Frequently Asked Questions
What do you sell?
Loose leaf tea, and only loose leaf tea. Seven of them: Himalayan Darjeeling Reserve, Moonlight First Flush, Imperial White Tea, Green Zen Tea, Bergamot Earl Grey, Chamomile Green Tea, and Soothing Saffron Blend.
Where does your tea come from?
Estates in India, including the Himalayan foothills. We import directly in small lots rather than buying pre-blended stock, and we keep each harvest separate.
What sizes do you offer?
Every tea comes in a 25 g pouch and a 50 g pouch. As a rough guide, 25 g makes about 12 cups and 50 g about 25 cups, at one teaspoon (2 g) per cup.
How do I brew it?
One teaspoon (2 g) of loose leaf per cup, 250 mL of water at 95 °C — just off the boil — steeped 5 to 7 minutes, covered. Lift the leaf out when the time is up so it doesn't turn bitter.
Which teas have the most caffeine?
Highest: Himalayan Darjeeling Reserve, Moonlight First Flush and Bergamot Earl Grey. Medium: Green Zen Tea. Lowest: Imperial White Tea, Chamomile Green Tea and Soothing Saffron Blend. Exact caffeine varies with how long you steep.
Is any of it caffeine-free?
No. All seven are made with real tea leaf, so all of them contain some caffeine. The low-caffeine teas are gentler, but none are herbal-only infusions.
How should I store it?
Somewhere cool, dry and dark, sealed between uses. Away from the stove, the kettle and anything strongly scented — tea picks up smells easily.
Do your teas contain allergens?
Our teas are processed in a botanical facility and contain no declared priority allergens. Full ingredients are printed on every pouch and listed on each product page. If you have a specific allergy, email us before ordering and we'll check the batch for you.
Why are the labels in French as well as English?
Because Canadian food labelling regulations require it, and because we'd rather every customer in the country be able to read the ingredients.
What is the lot number on my pouch?
It identifies the specific batch your tea was packed from. If you ever have a question or concern about a pouch, that code lets us trace it back to the exact harvest.
Where do you ship, and what does it cost?
Across Canada. Free on orders of $50 or more; a flat $9.95 below that. Orders are processed in 1–2 business days and typically arrive in 3–5. US shipping is coming.
What if something arrives damaged or wrong?
Email info@arcticsage.com with a photo within 7 days and we'll replace it or refund you in full, shipping included. Unopened pouches can be returned within 30 days. For food safety reasons we can't accept opened tea back.
Do you sell wholesale?
Not yet, but we'd like to. If you run a shop or café and want to carry Arctic Sage, email info@arcticsage.com.
